Week 3 of the NFL is fast approaching, and we have a smorgasbord of brilliant games to look forward to. However, this weekend we will focus our attention on the Miami Dolphins v Buffalo Bills. Representing a clash between the AFC East’s top two, the Dolphins and the Bills both remain unbeaten from their first two rounds of fixtures (2-0).
Both teams unbeaten
The Bills romped to a 41-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans in their previous outing, while the Dolphins were forced to work much harder against the Baltimore Ravens before prevailing 42-38. However, there were a few noticeable things we can take away from those games:
- Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was on fire against the Ravens, throwing six touchdown passes.
- Tagovailoa became only the ninth quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 450 yards and provide six scores in a game.
- The Dolphins’ scoring efficiency is at its lowest point at this stage of the season since 2017, averaging 21.4 points per game compared to 24 points per game last year.
- Bills quarterback Josh Allen passed for 317 yards and contributed four touchdown passes against the Titans.
Naturally, there will be a surge in betting activity over the coming days with fans rushing to the most reputable US online sports betting operators to place wagers on this game. And ahead of kick-off, we have whetted your appetite with a couple of tips to line your betting slips with.
Buffalo Bills juggernaut to roll on
Although it is perhaps a little premature to make any cast-iron judgments, the Buffalo Bills have certainly looked rather ominous. A statement victory in their opening game over the defending Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams was followed up with another magnificent display against the Ravens. At one point, the Bills scored 34 unanswered points after the first quarter was tied at 7-7, and once again, Allen came to the fore with another tremendous display.
While the Dolphins will be a much sterner test for the Bills, it’s hard to see just how they will contain them. Although the Bills’ victory over the Titans was somewhat marred by Dane Jackson, who was rushed off to hospital with a rather serious-looking neck injury, they should have a little bit too much for the Dolphins. A cursory glance at the overall head-to-head record shows that the Dolphins have the edge (61-48-1), but that can largely be attributed to their success in the 1970s. The Bills have had the better things of this rivalry in more recent times.
And if you like placing a wager on the Moneyline, then the Bills are trading at a rather short-looking -225 with BetMGM which could still be worth following up on.
Buffalo Bills to go touchdown crazy
Inevitably, Allen is instrumental in any given Bills game, and it was the same against the Titans where he took his tally of touchdown passes to seven for the campaign, which is simply extraordinary. Everything it seems goes through Allen. And while they will be missing offensive linesman Bobby Hart through suspension, it is scary the fashion in which the Bills are disposing of NFL sides.
Nothing seems to faze the Bills and having already amassed 72 points, as well as conceding just 17, the wind is firmly in their sails.
They could well get hit their stride quickly and get off to another fast start against the Dolphins this weekend. If you are intrigued by the touchdown market, then FanDuel is dishing up a price of -108 for the Bills to score Over 3.5 touchdowns during the game which might be too hard to ignore.
