The Boston Celtics have managed to turn the tables. While they initially seemed to be staring down the barrel as they were trailing in the series against the Miami Heat, but they now find themselves 3-2 up and they are now just one game away from reaching the NBA Finals.

A scintillating performance earlier this week saw the Celtics surge to a 93-80 victory and by getting back to basics, they have proved they have the mental fortitude to be a force in the playoffs.

There were a few key takeaways from the win over the Heat that will have impressed Celtics fans:

  • Jayson Tatum is now one of five players to have clocked up 1,500 points in the postseason before the age of 25.
  • Tatum also became the second youngest player after the late Kobe Bryant to achieve that feat.
  • The Heat had an off night with their shooting, managing a meagre 7 for 45 from the 3-point range.
  • The Celtics were rampant in the third quarter as they outscored the Heat 32-16

With the East Conference Finals trophy and East Finals MVP titles on the line on Friday evening, the Celtics will be hoping to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. The NBA Finals curry a lot of attraction for online sports betting enthusiasts and it will make for unmissable viewing. To pique your interest for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, we have handpicked a few tips for you to salivate over.

Boston Celtics to complete the job

In all respects, the Heat have just been completely outplayed in the last couple of games and the Celtics are dialed in at the moment. Of course, the twin threat of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum played a key role in Game 5 as they combined for 47 points.

There have of course been some massive momentum swings during the series. For example, in Game 2, the Celtics had a 60-21 run, and at times, you could say it has been topsy-turvy. As mentioned, Tatum reached a special milestone for points scored in NBA playoff history (1,500 points) and there is an unshakeable belief in the Celtics camp that their time is now.

It seems unfeasible that the Heat will be able to put the shackles on the Celtics and stop their seemingly inexorable march to the NBA Finals.  The Celtics should complete the job in Game 6 and they are currently trading at a very short -420 on the Moneyline with SugarHouse.

Expect it to be a tense affair

While the Heat ran away with things in Game 4, it was considerably tighter in terms of the margin of victory in Game 5. Yes, Tatum and Brown carried the threat, but they were ably supported by Al Horford (16 points) and Derrick White (14 points).

However, the Heat need to address their shooting and Jimmy Butler was below par, as he could only manage 13 points. The Celtics have been in the shadows for over 10 years, with their last NBA triumph arriving in 2008 whereas the Heat has had more experience in the latter stages of the playoffs.

Although the Celtics will be on home court, it could well be a nerve-jangled affair, as they will be desperate to get over the finishing line, so it might not be a high-scoring affair. Game 5 saw 173 points scored, and although the first three Games eclipsed the 200-point mark, it won’t be the same in Game 6.
